A married set of tsuba and kozuka for a tanto or small wakizashi/. A nanako ground on a guilt copper plate with with multi colored cloisonné flowers. The kozuka is finer work than the tsuba,
Like so many Namban items, these were imported from continental Asia. The most likely origin of the tsuba would be Korea. Note that the center opening is not suited for a Japanese blade. These gift items, brought in by international merchants, were popular with doctors and merchants as they demonstrated a worldliness. $1,500
