Ebony Tanto Koshirae

An ebony koshirae, with tsunagi, for a small tanto depicting some sort of Japanese myth and a furry tailed turtle.   Unfortunately, I have no idea about the significance of the imagery.  The tsuba is an integral part of the saya.  Named Chichuto on the back.  (Chi: knowledge, chu: devotion, to: sword).  Slight scratching as shown.  There is a small crack in the saya as shown.  It is not separating.  Ideal for mounting a small tanto, or collecting for itself.

                                                   Reverse Side of Tsuka

Chi: knowledge, chu: devotion, to: sword
