A stunning kozuka with a very unusual theme attributed to Goto Denjo. Beautifully carved shakudo of a Biwa floating on the water. The obvious association is Lake Biwa in Omi province. NTHK/NPO Kanteisho
Goto Denjo late 17th early 18th century, died on Nov 27, 1712, He lived in Kyoto. He was the second son of GotoTakujo, and fourth master of the Kibei line. There are Kao, however some are forgeries, such as M951 - M954, - in the Victoria Albert Museum.
