A strong Momoyama Higo tsuba, 8.05 cm x 8.05 cm x 5.3 mm. Great color in hand, although the pictures do not show the true patina. It will benefit from some brushing to bring up the surface. There was a similar one at the San Francisco show was selling at as Owari, at $850.00. New reference: Yashima, Japan, latest sales sheet, lists what appears to be the same work, calls it Owari, dates it first part of Edo, and prices it at 380,000 yen. That is within a stone's throw of $3,800. My prices don't get raised after I post, so here is a chance to make a decent investment. .
