Nobutaka Katana

An ubu katana signed, Hoki no Kami Fujiwara Nobutaka Saku.  Hawatare: 2 shaku 0 sun 9 bu (63.33 cm or 25.93").  Motohaba: 3.2 cm.  Sakihaba: 2.2 cm.  Kasane: 7.2   mm.  Large gunome midare based in konie. Fairly long yakidashi.  Hanie, sunagashi, kinsuji, nado.  The boshi is a sharp turn back, with a extended  kaeri.  The jigane is an itame nagare, with jinie as pronounced chikei.    Masame in the shinogi ji.  Mounted in shirasaya with a one piece silver habaki.  He is rated as Chusaku in Fujishiro's Nihon Toko Jiten - Shinto Hen, and valued at 3,500,000 yen in Tokuno's Toko Taikan.  NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon kanteisho. 

He was active around Enpo (1673 - 1681) he was at first called Nobuteru Kawamura Sannojo.  He received the title of Hoki no Kami in Kambum gonen (1665).  The third generation also signed Nobuteru.  During Kambun he made many works with the help of his father, so there are many gassaku works of this time, and explains why their work styles are so similar.
