A koto katana with a sharpness rating of Wazamono.  A well mounted suriage Katana signed nijimei, Kanetsugu.  Hawatare 2 shaku 2 sun (66.66 cm / 26.24")  Motohaba:  2.82 cm. Sakihaba:  2.18 cm.  Kasane: 5.3 mm.  Suguba in ko-nie, bright habuchi.  Ko nie deki, kinsuji.  Tight itame hada, with masa in the shinogiji. Profuse ji nie.  Boshi is komaru.  Rated at 3,500,000 yen in Toko Taikan, by Tokuno.  With a sharpness rating of wazamono.  In new polish, shirasaya, with accompanying koshirae.  NTHK/NPO kanteisho. 

Shakudo nanako with gold dragons and blue black shakudo clouds in taka zogan.  Large well detailed gold dragon menuki.  High quality white same, with new tsuka maki.  Iron tsuba tapered toward the mimi, with sukashi plum blossom, and shakudo mimi. signed Tadatsugu.   Excellent brown saya with small ribs running the full length.  Metal kojiri.   

This is Mino Kanetsugu  from Eisho jidai (February 1504 - August 1521).  Like the Oei period (July 1394 - April 1428), this was a period of the revival of the sword smith's art, primarily in Mino and Bizen.    This smith is illustrated or referenced in five standard Japanese texts on swords.   $7,550
