Muromachi Menuki

An excellent set of early menuki, Likely dating to Muromachi. Very good shakudo and gold utorii. The walls of the menuki are even, and pitch in toward the center, whereas later menuki have either straight walls, or are splayed out from the center. There were unfortunately certified when still under the tsuka ito, which precludes an evaluation, other to identify the picture. The fact that they said, mumei, was a pretty safe leap of faith. $1,500
