A wakizashi by Kashu Nagamitsu, signed nijimei, in Hizen style koshirae. Hawatare 1 shaku 6 sun 3 bu 7 rin (49.6 cm /21.53") Motohaba: 2.55 cm. Sakihaba: 1.84 cm. Kasane: 5.7 mm. Shinogizukure, iroi mune, chu-kissaki. Konie deki hamon is togari-mdareba, nado. Itame hada slightly nagare, nado. The nature of the polish makes picture of the hamon very difficult. NTHK/NPO kanteisho, and work sheet rating the blade at 76 points.
Brown leather tsukamaki;, fuchi-kashira shakudo nanako with horses and blossoming cherry trees in shakudo, gold, and silver. Very black shakudo shishi menuki. The saya is stippled and textured Chinese red lacquer, with an iron kojiri with gold and silver nunome butterflies. The iro Shoami tsuba is a chrysanthemum and butterfly, showing the clan allegiance to the Emperor.
Nagamitsu was working in Kaga province around Meio jidai (July 1492 - February 1501). In decent old polish. $1,000
