Shinshinto In Mint Gunto Koshirae

An ubu mumei late shinshinto or early gendaito katana mounted is absolutely mint shingunto koshirae. Hawatare: 2 shaku 2 sun 5 bu 3 rin (68.3 cm / 26.89"). Motohaba: 2.98 cm. Sakihaba: 2.03 cm. Kasane: 7 mm. Shinogizukure, iroi mune, chu kissaki, toriizori. Nioi deki chu suguba ko midareba with ashi forming ko choji. The jigane is a tight ko itame, with a faint utsure (visible in the second sword picture below). The boshi is omaru with a short kaeri.
The gunto koshirae is like it came out of the arsenal. No wear whatsoever.
I have seen a number of very good blades from the early twentieth century that for some reason, unknown to me, were not signed. This is a serious collector's sword for either the collector of Samurai art or Japanese military. $3,200
