A large iron sukashi tsuba of a flowering chrysanthemum 8.11 cm x 8.11 x 3.9 mm. Well carved iron with gold highlights. This is in like new condition. Early nineteenth century, Awa Shoami. Due to political affiliations, the Awa branch of Shoami, were relegated to second class artists, despite some superior skill and artistry. This came out of an older collection, and has not been to shinsa.
