Kuninaga was from Etchu province. There were three generations of Uda Kuninaga, shodai Eikyo (1429 - 1441); nidai Bunmei (1469 - 1487); sandai Temmon (1532 - 1555). The first and third generations are valued at 350,000 yen in Tokuno's Nihonto Taikan. The third generation is listed in Fujishiro's Nihon Toko Jiten - Koto Hen as chu saku. I was not able to locate any illustrations, however, according to the Nihonto Meikan the three generation are included in eleven Japanese sword books, most of which I do not have.
The Kuninaga is in need of a polish. A polisher's window was opened to show some of the details, and that the blade was healthy enough to survive a polish. This is a project that should not require a huge investment, and one that should show a good return. $1,600.
