Yasunaga / Nagayuki Katana

S052x

A long early Edo Katana signed, Sesshu Ju Yasunaga 摂州住康永 / Nagayuki 長幸 (very compromised).  Shinogizukure, shallow sori, chu kissaki.  Slightly suriage and machiokure,  Hawatare:  2 shaku 5 sun 1 bu 1 rin (76.1 cm / 29.96" ).  Motohaba:   2.69 cm,  Sakihaba: 1.97 cm.  Kasane:  7.1 mm.  Hiroi choji midare with gunome mixed in, in niedeki, deep ashi iri, nado.  Tight even ko-itame hada, jinie, utsuri,  nado.  Good polish, mounted in shirasaya with a silver foil  habak. The compromised Nagayuki is a bit of a red flag.

The sugata places this sword in latter part of the 17th century, perhaps around kanbun (1661-1673).
