Yoshitane (Naotane School) Tsuba

A large plum tree designed tsuba with silver gakumei on the ura, Totsu (Eastern capital) in archaic script, and Yoshitane in hiragana. Haynes, H 12162.0.. Circa 1806. There were two generations of the sword smiths, both students of Naotane, and both were prolific tsuba smiths. 8.21 cm x 7.83 cm x 4.6 mm. CORRECTION: As per Robert Haynes, this is an unrecorded artist, though likely of the same school. $800
