holdA large very heavy red copper daisho signed, Hisanori Saku.  Dai: 9.092 cm x 9 cm x 6.79 mm. 11.5 oz.   Sho:  7.568 cm x 7.567 cm 8.27 mm  8.5 oz

Hisanori, 1725 - 1795.   A Samurai retainer to the Matsudaira Daimyo,  he was a student of Omori Teruhide, and teacher of Nampo Masahide.

Ex collections of Bunpei Usui and Skip Holbrook.  At some point, these tsuba became separated.  The sho show signs of being mounted, and not the dai.   It was Bupei Usui who was lucky enough reunite them.  Never submitted to shinsa, and a letter documenting their history from Skip Holbrook.
