Tohachi Tsuba
LS032
Hayashi Tohachi ( 1723 to 1791
The design of the pine tree is shown in
the typical Hayashi style without kebori and in graceful silhouette.
Fine granular tekotsu. 8.2 cm x 7.77 x 4.4 mm. is larger than
the average Tohachi. Tohachi was the third master of the Hayashi school and
a highly skilled worker.
Id suggest showing a close up picture of
the seppa dai area from the front as I can see hints of the nakago ana punch
marks used by Tohachi and this will help discerning collectors. The flower
shaped stamps are also often present on his work.
